I was born in Chicago at the Great Lakes Naval hospital where my dad was stationed and spent the first 8 years of my life as an Army brat, including living in Japan for two years. We finally settled in Albuquerque, NM in 1961 when my dad retired. I grew up there and was introduced to the propane industry early on when my dad went to work for Williams Energy Co. When I was in grade school, I used to go to the office on weekends with him and stuff customer statements and during the summer I helped paint tanks. I entered the propane industry in 1973 with Williams Energy Co. and transferred to Phoenix, AZ in 1976 to work in the accounting center. I got married there in 1978, and in 1979 moved back to Albuquerque for the birth of my first child, Jennifer. I took a year off and then went back to work for Williams in 1980 at the southwest dispatch office. My second child, Joshua, was born in 1983. In 1987, I transferred to Kansas City, concentrating on Department of Transportation (DOT) and safety regulations, then moved to dispatch. I joined Propane Resources in 1995 to help establish the company's transportation segment. I moved from logistics to the supply group in December 2004 and handle supply invoicing and the Mapco pipeline distribution. |
